पसीने और आंसुओं में मौजूद सोडियम क्लोराइड के कारण ही इनका स्वाद नमकीन होता है आंसू और पसीना दोनों लवण के साथ-साथ खनिज तथा अन्य रसायन होते हैं जब लवणों की मात्रा शरीर के लिए आवश्यक मात्रा से ज्यादा होती है तब इन्हें बाहर निकाल दिया जाता है मुख्य रूप से तो यह काम गुर्दे करते हैं लेकिन लवणों की कुछ मात्रा पसीने के साथ भी निकाल दी जाती है

Sweat and tears have a salty taste due to sodium chloride present in them. Tears and sweat contain both salts as well as minerals and other chemicals. It is mainly performed by the kidneys, but some amount of salts are also removed with sweat.
